Teacher Guest Post from @MaryDiMaggio1 about Personalized Learning Conference

The two days have caused me to deeply reflect on my practice. One keynote speaker, Diane Laufenberg, mentioned that control and compliance systems don’t lead to creativity and innovation and don’t allow students to customize their own learning paths.  So, if that is the case, then how do we get there?

This left me with a series of questions to think about that I would like to share and hopefully get you thinking too. How can we begin infusing these elements into what we do on a daily basis?  How will we know if what they are learning is effective? How will we allow students the freedom to create authentic learning experiences?  And lastly, how can we help students understand that failure is not fatal but it is the ongoing curiosity and learning that is important?
